Grenell Pushes Back: Trump Admin DID Offer Intel that COVID May Have Escaped From Lab

Ashley Jarrett

Former U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell was a great diplomat on behalf of our country and the Trump administration, but he was also a fantastic, albeit only temporary, director of national intelligence.

Unlike some of his predecessors (James Clapper, we’re looking at you), Grenell was honest, transparent, and legitimately interested in keeping the American people as informed as possible within the confines of daily dealing with highly classified materials, all while serving at the pleasure of the president (who obviously trusted him).

What’s more, Grenell is fearless, pushing back on BS political and media narratives like a boss whenever he has been given the opportunity to shine more light on the dark recesses of Washington insider politics.

He did so again on Friday during an interview with Fox News host Grant Stinchfield.

After discussing the RINO class and what it was like to deal with them during his tenure, Grenell shifted gears and took aim at recent narratives claiming that the Trump administration had no information regarding the origins of COVID-19, and if it did, the White House didn’t let anyone know.

Not only was the previous administration keenly aware that the virus may have come from the top-level Chinese lab in Wuhan, but it also published the information for all to see. It’s just that Democrats, RINOs, and the obscenely dishonest corporate media chose not to see because doing so would have meant acknowledging something good about Trump.

”If you go back to April 30, 2020, there is a statement that was issued when I was acting director of national intelligence that the entire intelligence community agreed to, and that’s a very rare thing when you can get all of the agencies to sign off on every verb and every comma,” Grenell said.

“But they did and they made three very critical points and, in that statement – it’s still up on the DNI website – we said China was responsible for COVID-19,” he noted further. “And the intelligence community 100 percent agreed across the board, that it either started in a Wuhan lab or in what we said animal to human transmission, which really means wet market.

”We were very clear but the game in Washington was they didn’t want to pick up on that statement, they didn’t publish it, they didn’t push it out like they should have because it would have given Donald Trump a win to define how COVID started, which was his clear statement that it started in China,” said the former DNI.

”Now we have Joe Biden pretending to instruct the intelligence community to go review documents and catch up. Let me be very clear, the intelligence community every day looks at documents. They don’t need to be told to catch up or do a 90-day review. They do that review every single day. So, if one person is behind and wants a 90-day catch-up, it’s Joe Biden,” he added, referencing the president’s order last week for his administration to ‘look into’ the origins of the virus (when they already know where it came from).

”Why is Joe Biden confused about what we know about COVID-19? Because the intelligence community doesn’t hold anything back. They every single day evaluate and push forward. It’s just some people aren’t listening or some people are listening to The Washington Post when they have some leaker,” Grenell added.
